Season 2 opens with Leonardo helping the wounded Lorenzo to escape from the Pazzi, but Lorenzo is dying from loss of blood. With Verrocchio's help, Leonardo creates an improvised blood transfusion, giving his own blood to Lorenzo. While weakened during the transfusion, he has visions.
